Coffee Shops

Coffee is one of my biggest passions and hobbies. I'm delighted to share that two of my three favorite coffee shops are within walking distance of the house. However, the best of the best is worth the ten minute drive.
A beautiful coffee + floral shop a 5 minute walk from the house. They brew locally roasted coffee, have some light fare, and also have some cute gifts. On the same property you will find a beautiful nursery co-owned by a friend of mine, and a boutique store in the back.

A hip, local coffee shop with nice indoor and outdoor seating. Refill offers four types of cold brew, coffee brewed from award-winning, local roaster Bird Rock Roasters, crepes, avocado toast, some baked goods, and wine and beer in the evenings. I'm probably here twice a week!

This is one of the best third wave coffee shops in the city. Their beans are fresh, with roast dates on every bag. They offer pour overs, as well as classes for various brew methods at their India St location. As of Aug 10th, their newest location is only a 5 minute drive from the house! If you buy a bag of beans, defintiely buy from James Coffee Co.

Food scene

Bahn Thai wins "Best Thai in San Diego" almost every year, and they have the reviews to prove. Don't let the paper plates fool you. This unassuming establishment will surprise you with how good (and authentic) their food is. I order food from here almost weekly.

Less than ten minutes walking from the house, this local mid-priced eatery never disappoints. Their lunch, dinner, and brunch menus are fantastic. They have a variety of wonderful drinks to be enjoyed indoors or outdoors. Dinner is more small plates/tapas style, but I definitely do not share my brunch!

Pizza

San Diego's pizza scene is lacking, full stop. However, we have a few that I would give a solid endorsement. With a few locations across the city, Luigi's has good New York(ish) pizza, and is about a ten minute walk from the house.

If you like Chicaog-style pizza, this will be your jam! The owners are from Chicago and they import their cheese from Wisconsin. It's the closest you will get to the real deal on the west coast, in my opinion! Just remember that Chicago-style takes longer to cook so be ready for wait or call ahead. They have two locations in the city.
