City/town information

Dinant is a lovely city to visit, especially if the sun is shining. It's only 30 km away. There is a direct train from Jambes to Dinant every hour. You could also bike there along the Meuse river: flat and super nice trip. There are a few villages along the way, so if you don't feel like going all the way to Dinant, you can just stop anywhere, get a drink on a restaurant/bar with view on the river, and then head back!

Sightseeing

You can't miss the Citadelle if you come to Namur. You can walk from here, knowing it's "a bit" hilly. If you go walking, use the pedestrian bridge "l'enjambée" to get there. Once at the top, there are many ways you can take to have a nice walk with a beautiful view of the city and the Meuse river. There is a bar and restaurant within the Citadelle, so you can place on having a refreshment! Having a picnic with a view of Namur is a pretty good formula too! If you have kids, there is a fantastic playground on the very top (plaine Fabiola).

For 250 years, in Annevoie, nature animates, without machinery, unique water games in style gardens. About 15 km away from the studio. Ideal to go by bicycle, along the Meuse river. Plan about 1.5hour for a visit. There is a good restaurant on-site.

If you go to Dinant and want to take a nice nature walk, go to Chaussée des Alpinistes 26 5500 Dinant there is a small parking lot on the other side of the road, that is the starting point of a beautiful 7km, ~2h hike. Follow the blue diamond signs. Also documented on the AllTrail website as "Freÿr - Waulsort".

Food scene

The Namur food scene is very nice and very looked after, so it is often fully booked, especially on Fridays and Saturdays : it is safer to book your restaurant if you want to have a good one! ;-)
Delicious ice cream cone place located just nearby the pedestrian bridge crossing the Meuse river. A beloved spot by many. Highly recommended

One of my "coup de coeur" this year. Excellent food, local, season, all made from scratch. A bit on the pricier side but you ll have got for your money. The restaurant only seats 12 persons, so you need to book way ahead in advance!.

Greek food in tapas style. The marketing is a bit odd but I have to recognize it: the food is excellent.

This one is at the very top of my list too: the greatest Spanish food in the region (do I dare?!), fresh ingredients, cooked on the spot in an open kitchen by a chef whose sole personality makes you feel like coming back.

This is the place is an institution; I is the place to go if you want to taste traditional Belgian food. The food is great, the place too. It's tradition but it does not feel old.

One of my favorite spot in town, little hole-in-the-wall: warm sandwiches and other comfort food all made on the spot with fresh products from Spain. Also have good wine. Talking to the owner and cook is part of the experience. Highly recommended for a lunch !

This is a chain but I have to admit: it's healthy and it is good. Also, it is nearby the house, and it has a large capacity, so it will probably be the only place where you'll find a seat for brunch if you haven't made any reservations. You will have a good selection of savory and sugary food, with original, trendy recipes, and good drinks. They are surfing the tasty & healthy wave.
