Food Scene

Fresh, authentic Indian food in a lovely colourful, contemporary space in the centre of town. Staff always explain the dishes and are very conscientious about accommodating special dietary requirements. Good wine list, too, and a tasty alternative Sunday lunch option. Definitely worth booking ahead for dinner.

Great café, lovely cakes and savouries, fresh baked doughnuts on Fridays, little garden in the back, and a great spot for people-watching. Don't let the seagulls steal your cake, though, if you sit out front - it's been known to happen!

A very Brighton lunch option! Veggie, canteen style, table-sharing, and excellent value. The price of the main dish includes a choice of 2 cooked veg or salads, and 2 toppings eg hummus and toasted seeds.

Brighton has more pubs and clubs than wine bars but this one is great, ideal if you just want a glass somewhere before dinner. You can also buy bottles to go.
