At least 2kms long, Long Beach is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the peninsula. One can also search for the wreck of the ship Kakapo which is not almost buried in the sand.

On the other side of the Peninsula about 15kms from The Fig Tree Cottage is Simonstown - home of the South African Navy. The town has wonderful late 19th and early 20th century architecture and a number of museums. Just Nuisance - the only dog ever to be commissions in the navy - lived in the work during the 2nd World War.
