Easily climb to beautiful 360 degree panoramic views of Western North Carolina. This peak has the Applachian Trail crossing over it. It's a must see! Directions to Max Patch from OTR: If your GPS has longitude latitude settings the coordinates to input are 35.796470, -82.962548. Keep a look out for signs. Head north on Beasley Cove Rd toward Meadow Fork Rd 1 mi; Turn right onto Meadow Fork Rd 2.4 mi; Turn left onto State Rd 1181/Little Creek Rd 3.5 mi; Turn right onto State Rte 1182 Entering Tennessee 1.6 mi Max Patch Mountain / 7163 Max Patch Rd, Hot Springs, NC 28743 Street signs are sometimes lacking in this area so make sure to zero out your odometer with each turn I think GPS will work to bring you back to OTR but if it doesn't, remember to TAKE A LEFT out of the parking lot and go 1.6 mi; Turn left onto State Rd 1181/Little Creek Rd 3.5 mi; Turn right onto Meadow Fork Rd 2.4 mi; Turn left onto Beasley Cove Rd

Lots to explore here and it's the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park Cherokee is a town on the reservation home of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation, in western North Carolina. At Oconaluftee Indian Village, the 18th-century Cherokee lifestyle is preserved via live demonstrations. In summer, the drama "Unto These Hills" tells the tribal story at the outdoor Mountainside Theatre. The nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park features campgrounds and Appalachian hiking trails. OTR is not really in Hot Springs, it's in Spring Creek, township 8 of Hot Springs proper. This means a whole lot of country. Here I am listing a couple places not registered with Google so this is the only way to post them. First is the best burger ever right in the heart of Spring Creek next to the fire station!! Open 11:30-7:30 Tues-Sat & Sun from 12-4 13075 Hwy 209, Hot Springs, NC 28743, Ph 828-622-0001 The best local spot I can recommend is the local swimming hole. The water is super cold so be sure to bring dry towels. It's on your way to Hot Springs town. There's no road sign for this little road, but if you see Garenflo Gap you've passed it. Also look at street view and you will see it's right before where hwy 209 takes a sharp right and the beginning of Garenflo Gap. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/1020+Beasley+Cove+Road,+Hot+Springs,+NC/6671+N+Carolina+209,+Hot+Springs,+NC+28743/@35.7962183,-82.9544529,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x885bd4d3fb9c569f:0x5083c963e10b2be1!2m2!1d-82.9125094!2d35.7552716!1m5!1m1!1s0x885a2dac905da0ab:0xd231337c4c1bb1a6!2m2!1d-82.8571311!2d35.8369181
