My favourite wineries

They have produced awards winning wines and even the ones that didn’t win awards are beautiful on the palate. They have beautiful views of the surrounding hills and lovely outdoor sitting areas where you can sit and enjoy a bottle of wine.

If you love architecture, the Chateau is definitely a place to stop by and do some wine tasting. Chateau Yaldara also has a beautiful riverside restaurant that offers relaxed all-day dining with a selection of dishes for any appetite.

Beautiful grounds to wander around and a bright and modern wine cellar door. Their restaurant ‘Our Table’ is open for lunch and serves up glorious fresh seasonal produce tapas style. The food is on the pricey side but delicious.

Food scene

A mouth watering seasonal menu in a beautiful setting. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to dine. And since the restaurant is located at the Cellar door you can have a wine tasting session while you wait for the chef to prepare your meal.

An amazing selection of German bread and cakes as well as pies and pasties. They also have a sit down menu for lunch and takeaway. The ‘Lyndoch Burger’ is highly recommended by us. They also do a good cup of coffee.

Similar to the Lyndoch Bakery but they do have a wider selection of breads and baked goods. Their cakes are delicious.

A delicious seasonal menu of contemporary Australian dishes made with some of the produce grown in their gardens. A delightful dining experience as you are surrounded by their beautiful lush gardens made visible by the floor to ceiling glass walls of the restaurant. Tip: It can get quite hot in the Summer months.

If you are in the mood for takeaway pizza look no further. Pizza only available Thursday to Sunday for dinner. Also good for those looking for a pub atmosphere and some decent pub grub

I love them for their amazing selection of local and foreign cheeses as well as deli meats. They have a huge selection of all grocery items and a lovely in-house café with delicious sandwiches and small meals. Well worth slightly longer drive to do your grocery shopping.

A must visit to check out the fresh and sometimes rare local produce and food. We recommend you head up there early in the morning to ensure that you get your hands on Eleni’s famous Barossa handmade ciabattas or focaccias. You can also grab brekkie at the café there that makes delicious coffee. Market is on every Saturday 7.30am to 11.30am.

Sightseeing

This lookout has in my opinion the best views of the Barossa. Here you will see sweeping views of the famous wineries and fields that make up this region's stunning landscape. There is also a sculpture park that that is worth exploring.
