The River Lea towpath runs from our estate down to Hackney Wick and Victoria Park, where it connects to the Hertford Union Canal - that then leads to Regent's Canal - and further, all the way to the River Thames, if you fancy a really long walk. Along the path a several parks, cafés and pubs, and you can see many lovely narrow boats (house boats). It's a very special side of London that not many tourists have on their map.

Pub

Our favourite little pub in the neighbourhood. The quirky building is a very beautiful conversion of a former Victorian public toilet. They sell great beers including some of the local craft ales, and also a small but delicate range of home made pub food. Yum.

This Columbian cafe and restaurant is a Tottenham classic. They serve authentic food and drinks. The atmosphere is very special, and on a summer day you could be forgiven for thinking you're not in London, but far far away... also a perfect place to practice your Spanish if you know any.

A historic Victorian beam engine, formerly used as part of the London Sewage Works. It's located in a lovingly refurbished grade II listed engine hall. The beam engine has been restored and can be experienced in action on several open days in the year. A very special experience. The sheer size of the machine is impressive. It's set in Markfield Park, and there's a lovely café next door.
