People rave about the cinnamon scrolls - and it's not hype. They are next level. As is the bread and food. Great place for a coffee and scroll; or grab some ancient sourdough for your morning toast. Take away meals are simply delicious too. And as you're a local now, you don't have to worry about parking. Just walk down. Or grab the bikes.

This is our special place for perfect dinners overlooking the ocean and sunset. The wine list is soo good. Really popular for breakfast and lunch, too. Coffee is great. It's located in a 1930s art deco style converted cabaret hall, with indoor and outdoor seating, relaxed Italian inspired expresso and restaurant with plenty of space to lounge around or just read the paper. Open 7:00am till Late. Try and get a high table for a cosier date night.

This has been our favourite stopping point after our early morning walks or bike rides for years and years. We grab a take-away coffee and the best chocolate croissants and head over the road to sit in the sun on the ocean wall. The boys swear by their breakfast wraps and burgers.

Neighbourhood

We love this beach. Always have. This is our go-to for swimming laps. A shark net makes it safe for those who are a bit wary. Ideal for toddlers and the older visitors. Norfolk Pines provide shade during those hot summer days. Stay and have fish and chips on the lawn from Amberjacks across the road. At sunset the parrots make the most amazing sound as they come in to roost en-masse.

Beautiful open beach just down the road from Salt and Pines. White sand, nice swell. This is a where you need to stretch out those legs for a long walk along the sand. Walk a bit further North and nude sunbathing is allowed. Pop up the the Shorehouse for a glass of something cold after - or a takeway coffee and icecream.

Sightseeing

If you have time to take a day trip on the ferry to Rottnest Island, its a great experience. The island is just 12 miles from Fremantle with no cars. Hire a bike; go swimming or snokelling in super crystal clear bays; take a selfie with a quokka; have a beer looking across the ocean to Perth; go to the famous bakery but watch the seagulls don't steal food out of your hands!
