Favorite Restaurants & Great local Hang outs
Great Local spot to watch all sporting events. Finnegan's Way is where locals hang out . Prices are reasonable, & the food is good. This is where you are most likely to find me watching a Sunday game, or having a casual beer with our friends.

Another favorite for locals that belongs on my bucket-List as #5, Garcia's is right on the Miami River within walking distance of our house. Excellent seafood place, family-friendly! Good food! I usually order the dolphin sandwich.

The world-famous Miami Beach. Art Deco district - Ocean Drive Bars, Restaurants & Shopping Most of the action resides on Ocean Drive itself, Collins Avenue, Washington Avenue, and Lincoln Road. However, restaurants & bars can also be found around Purdy Avenue and below 5th street. Miami Beach is divided into three sections South Beach - Middle Beach & North Beach. South Beach - Begins at South Point at 1st str. goes up to 41str. The stretch between 1st str. and 15 str. are the most popular and runs along Ocean Drive, & the Art Deco district you know from photographs & movies. Lummus Park runs parallel to this stretch, between 5th and 15th str. / The area around 8th-10th has beach-volleyball, workout areas, and so forth. / The area around 12th street (approx.) has a playground for kids). The Revival of Wynwood. As Miami Beach was Injected with million-dollar investments and corporate operators, prices skyrocketed on during the 2000s, and artists found themselves increasingly pushed out due to high rents. Subsequently, they reemerged united in a then lesser-known part of town known as Wynwood and transformed it ''their way.'' Today Wynwood is popping with Art, small Resturants and one of a kind bars, and a host to many of Art Basle main events. If you are into the art scene, Wynwood is a must-visit! It is less than 2 miles from our house. https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/wynwood-walls-have-shaped-miamis-art-scene If you there, check out a dear friend of ours - you won't regret it http://robsternartglass.com/

Although The Clevelander has undergone many changes since the millennia, it is a key icon of where the revitalization of South Beach began! Unsurpassed in popularity during the 90'ties and early 2000, as a beach bar and night club, to present-day more of a ''corporate environment.'' You haven't really been to South Beach without a stop at the ''Cleve.'' Bucket-List #3 (21 & over, bring your ID)

City advice

What to pack

Flip-Flops & Sun Lotion

Sun Lotion, Sun Lotion & more Sun Lotion - Yes! You will still get a beautiful tan with a factor 40 and up! Go with a factor 80-100 waterproof for the kids!
Getting around

Nearest MetroRail station

Going back and forth to the Airport? Use the Miami-Dade MetroRail; you can literately walk to the nearest station from our house in under 5 Minutes. Get off and on at "Culmer Station" 701 NW 11 street. Link to map> https://www.miamidade.gov/transportation-publicworks/metrorail-stations.asp The MetroRail can also take you to Brickell, Vizcaya, Coconut Grove, and all the way to Dadeland (Shopping Mall). Car rental or Taxi? It is just as easy, and probably more affordable to get around with Uber or Lyft, than it is to rent a car, plus is saves you the cost of paying for parking.
Customs and culture

Bring your ID

Going out on the town? Bring your ID; odd's are that you will get a confidence boost & be asked for ID when buying Cigarettes or Alcohol, no matter how old you are. Why? - It is the law, servers & cashiers must follow it. It also perfectly normal to be asked to show ID when using a C Card, this is done to protect you from fraud, just in case you have dropped your wallet, the chances are that a ''finder'' does not look like you.
