As well as an amazing Cornish Orchard, there is a large lawned area and the focal point of the lawn is the magnificent Japanese red cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) which was planted in 1898, an extremely long-lived tree that thinks nothing of growing over 1,000 years. These gardens have super views down to the beautiful Helford River. Exotic plants and beautiful floral pathways lead to different areas of gardens and if you like gardens this is a must.

Highly recommend a visit to the small, quaint and historical port of Charlestown. There are many restaurants and things to do there including The Shipwreck Museum with its newly found tin mine tunnel.

A brilliant harbour-side restaurant (5 stars on Tripadvisor) that specialises in steaks and seafood. A crowd-pleasing combination, where the local meat and fish is so fantastic. And the quintessentially Cornish setting doesn’t hurt either…

Excellent pub in the village and Piskey Cove served luscious ice cream. There is a cycle route which runs through Pentewan one way leading to Heligan and the other towards St Austell. There is also an historic harbour to wander around.
