You can't come to the area and not stop at Virginia Beach! If you park a block off the beach you can find surface lots for $5/day. Lots of great restaurants throughout the area. Don't miss the King Neptune statue around 25th street.

The amount of wildlife you can see is incredible. One draw back is the amount of mosquitos at certain times of the year. Lots of rich history if you look into the Great Dismal Swamp.

There are hiking trails of all calibers, camping, and the beach is in the bay so you don't get the large ocean waves if you are with little ones.

Harbour View area has everything from Restaurants and Ice Cream, to shopping and movies. Sushi to steak to wings and beer. Personally, I like the Raput Indian restaurant for their buffet.
