Food scene

Convenient & Casual! I LOVE Corner16. The atmosphere & food are fantastic. Plus, the outdoor area for games is a really great way to catch up with friends while still having drinks. Or sip on some wine by the fire pits under the bistro lights. Whether you sit indoors or outdoors, their winterized patio is more than accommodating for large parties & warm with ceiling heaters. You won’t be disappointed! P.S. Try the Fried Okra! Even if you don’t like okra, it is an absolute MUST at this restaurant. P.P.S Also, they have a delicious peppermint milkshake dessert during the winter months.

Aubrey’s is the place to grab a delicious and fresh meal with friends or by yourself by the bar for a more casual scene. The one thing I love about this restaurant is that it’s homemade but not your typical chain restaurant. You’ll find a good variety of options on their menu (seafood, salads, steaks, burgers, & even pasta) for extremely reasonable prices. The portions are large & the sides are all great balances to their meals. For a single person wanting to grab a good draft beer at the bar or a group of 4-6 who wants to eat on the patio with wine, Aubrey’s has more to offer than your typical restaurant with its large & private bar & patio. One of the most impressive things that I noticed about Aubrey’s when I moved here is that they are consistently good. I’ve NEVER ate at their establishment(s) & haven’t liked my meal. I know you won’t either. Personal Recommendation: I like to eat clean and their “Lemon Lime Chicken” is phenomenal. It’s my personal go-to option. It’s grilled chicken breast and always cooked perfectly juicy. I get sweet potato fries & wild rice with it. Oh & their honey mustard is the bomb.

Outdoor Activities

This is an open park to the public with a paved walking trail & tons of soccer fields. It’s a good place to stretch your legs in the convenience of the city. There are two walking loops & it’s a very safe area. I’ve enjoyed taking my dogs out for a walk here & running around the complex. It’s always nice to also bring some friends and just have a picnic if there aren’t any soccer games (in the winter you won’t have to worry about this).

Shopping

Chances are if you’re wanting to sneak off to do some shopping, you won’t have to go far to find what you’re looking for (plus a whole lot more) in Turkey Creek! The area is full of great shopping & restaurants.
Turkey Creek has dining, entertainment, shopping, dessert boutiques, and is basically your all-inclusive stop for the whole family. The Regal Cinema Theater is STUNNING! I remember seeing the neon lights for the first time at night when I moved here and though to myself..."Wow. Now THAT is a theater". Ohhh boy, and trust me it doesn't disappoint either. An ABSOLUTE MUST is the 4DX movie theater. The seats move as if you're on a ride at your favorite amusement park. I'm talking full tint, unexpected laughter, and a true movie experience that is UNFORGETTABLE! The theater actually can rain...rain...yes, it's that advanced. It's almost as if you're put into the movie itself. It's one of the most state of the art theaters out there. Plus, you have the 3D showings, regular 2D showings, along with extended hours and special features for certain movies. Shopping-There are simply too many to list but none that I don't love! Kid-friendly shops, pet stores, apparel, home decor/furniture, hobby shops, and shops for the tech-lovers. Restaurants-SOOO many good ones. But my three personal faves are Connor's Steak and Seafood (super nice and romantic), Kabuki (AMAZING sushi-ask for Dichka! Tell her Erica & Jay sent you. She makes that business the most unforgettable experience with her customer service, beautiful heart, and attention to detail. She has our personal orders memorized!). Last but most certainly not least-Schakolad Chocolate Factory! That's right. Chocolate baby....I'm talking whole lotta chocolate. The owners are local and I love supporting their business. They are in there early and stay late. They dip my "usual" order of fresh strawberries right in front of me to watch and then flash freeze them while we talk for a minute so I can enjoy my treats only moments later after leaving. They have fresh gelato and TONS of beautiful cordials, truffles, and specialty chocolates that decorate their display cases. Just talking about it brings back the amazing smell of this place. It's my personal favorite for a dessert that offers more than a quick bite. Their service and willingness to provide the most educational chocolate experience are so cool. On the first Monday of each month, they offer a closed-door event for people to dip their own chocolates and make their own treats while learning about the history of chocolate. Just be sure to call and book ahead. It fills up quickly. How cool would this be for a work event or family night out that's interactive and conveniently located!

One of my favorite things to do (when I get the rare day off) is head over to West Town Mall for some shopping and a delicious caramel apple from "Chocolate Monkey" inside the mall. There are TONS of restaurants surrounding the area. Too many to even begin to suggest and share. Yet, Cheesecake Factory is attached to the mall and Cinnebar (a true dining experience within the movie theater in the mall). Forgot your makeup on vacation?! Yep...been there and I've definitely done that more times than I care to admit. Drive just a few minutes away to restock at the Dior, Chanel, MAC, Bare Minerals, Sephora, etc...you get my point. They've got the goods. I moved to Knoxville & didn't realize that there was a MAC here! I was so sad at first and then found a counter in the Women's Belk at the mall! Ran out of juice?! Our mall also has an Apple Store located within which has also come in handy many times when some of our bookings have "forgot" their laptop chargers, etc! You don't need an excuse for a rainy day. Enjoy just walking around, grabbing some great food, or pop into the movies there for a wonderful experience. Oh! When you buy popcorn at the movies there, it's bottomless. Enjoy it from your recliner with a cold beer.
