Portos is so amazing. It's a Cuban bakery with a few locations sprinkled throughout LA. They do an amazing fruit tart and all their chocolate baked goods are delicious! They also make a yummy cuban sandwich. The prices are extremely reasonable. You can get a large box of goodies for less than $20!

The view from the Observatory is really beautiful, particularly at night, because you can see all the lights of LA sprawled out below you. In the daytime, the area is also nice to check out for hiking (it's in Griffith Park, where the trails to the Hollywood sign are).
