Masjid Putra didirikan pada 22 Zulkaedah 1419 Hijri bersamaan 9 Mac 1999 Masihi. Ia menjadi mercu tanda Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya. 1700/5000 The Masjid Putra was founded on 22 Zulkaedah 1419 Hijri on March 9, 1999 AD. It is the landmark of the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. The mosque was named Putra Mosque in honor of the first Malaysian Prime Minister, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. The mosque is located next to the Putra Square and opposite the Putra Putra block. From the direction of this mosque, you can see the beautiful view of Putra Lake and its surrounding area. Most of the mosque is surrounded by lakes, making it look like floating water such as the Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque in Terengganu and the Tanjung Bunga Mosque in Penang. The difference between the two mosques is near the sea, while Putra Mosque is surrounded by lakes. The design of the Putra Mosque is based on the Persian architecture of the Safawe Kingdom. Its architecture and dome design highlight the features of a traditional mosque easily seen in East Asia. The entire height of the mosque equates to a 21-story building. It consists of four floors including a roof that has their own function. The mosque's Dome is pink and its arabesque design is a plant-like sculpture on the mosque's dome in Egypt. The carvings and interior decoration of the dome and mosque are entirely inspired by the local carving art. Apart from the dome of the attractions at this Putra Mosque, the material of cengal of choice for doors, grilles and frames on the mosque has managed to turn Malay sculptures based on the teachings of Islam which highlights the spirit of brotherhood and harmony with others.
