Sightseeing

So little visited this place is like being transported to another planet... craters and desert-like landscape . There are day tours available or rent a car and go on your own. Really off the beaten track and lots of animals usually roaming around the area, guanacos, foxes, armadillos, skunks and rheas. A great little National Park, well worth a visit if you have a full day free...

A great half-day trip on a boat takes you to Isla Marta where you can see a sea lion colony then on to Isla Magdalena where you disembark and can walk on the island and see all the penguins. A fun trip which goes twice daily, weather permitting.

Nicely organised, this is a giant cave where Milodon remains were found. It also has information on the animals that roamed in the area such as the sabre-toothed tiger and other animals now extinct. It has a walk of around an hour or so in the surrounding area. A good place to visit from Puerto Natales if you have a few hours to spare.
