Local Beach

Qawra Point is great for snorkling. The natural ponds have an abundance of ocean life and this is a favorite for us locals. There are sunbeds you can hire and lots of kiosks to have a bite to eat. Its about an 8-10 minute walk along the promenade from the apartment.

Sightseeing

Trips to Comino and Gozo are really worth a day out. To travel to Malta and not visit the beautiful crystal blue waters of comino or our historic sister island of Gozo would be unthinkable.

Valletta is our capital and there is so much to see there that I don't know where to begin. For historians and architecture buffs its a dream. Don't forget your camara! If you like shopping, it wont disappoint! If you like sightseeing than you will be blown away by the beautiful views of the sea and the old harbour towns from the Upper Barracka gardens. For those of you who like the Arts, then there are always lots of Galleries and shows from our many historical and breath taking theatres. If you want to see the Grand Harbour from the sea, which is really something, then I recommend the Grand Harbour Tour. In Valletta there's something for everyone! To get there catch bus 45, 48 or 31 from outside the apartment.

Mdina is a walled city and beautifully preserved. Really worth a days visit! The architecture is breath taking and it dates back to antiquity. Take your camara and don't leave without getting a bite to eat or a cake and coffee from Fontanella. The view of Malta from this cafe are out of this world and the cakes are pretty great too! Catch bus 186 from the bus station.

Bit of a drive if you've hired a car but a nice day out to one of Malta's favorite fishing villages. Marsaxlokk has a nice market and is known for it's many Seafood restaurants; and everything is fresh and caught by the local fishermen.

Beach

I love this beach! But it's not good for kids or if your not a strong swimmer as the water can be rough. You also have loads of steps to get down to the beach. But it has some of the best scenery and sea you’ll encounter around the Maltese islands. To me, this beach is a perfect balance between being in raw nature and yet having facilities to be comfortable at the beach. Well worth a bus ride! Get the 223 bus from Qawra bus station.

This is Malta's largest and most popular beach. It's great for small children as the water is very shallow and the sand is great for sandcastles!! It has lots or beach kiosks and sunbeds, but the downside is that it gets very very busy. Get there by taking the 212 bus. Its not far.

This beach is known for it's red sand and is a lovely beach to enjoy. It's not as large as Mellieha, nor as safe for kids but It's close to Bugibba and there's a couple of restaurants / bars on the beach. Nice day out!
