Since the 1950s, before Uganda's Independence, Kololo has been an upscale residential area because of its central location in the city and to the views from the hill. Kololo is a popular location for diplomatic missions to Uganda, housing more than a dozen embassies and ambassadors' residences. During the 2000s, hotels, banks, hospitals, and other corporate entities began to infiltrate the hill, mainly to serve those who reside there, away from the noise and traffic congestion in the central business district located on the neighboring Nakasero Hill. Kololo is a hub for good nightlife, amazing food and access to stress-free shopping. The 18-hole golf course at Kampala Golf Club sprawls through the valley that hugs Kololo’s lush hill and is a hangout for elite Ugandans and successful foreign businessmen and development workers.

Recommended Sight Seeing of Uganda to appreciate why it is referred to as the Pearl of Africa
Entebbe is a lovely town built on the shores of Lake Victoria, and is home to the country's International Airport, and the State House, the official residence of the President of Uganda.. Entebbe offers a relaxed stop-over alternative to Kampala if one is flying into or out of Uganda, as the air is clean, the streets are safe to walk, and the old colonial gardens and parks with the lake in the background make for a serene atmosphere. Entebbe is mostly famous for an Israeli commando raid on 4 July 1976, when over one hundred mainly Jewish hostages held on a hijacked Air France plane were rescued.Over 40 Ugandan troops were killed by the Israelis during the rescue. Entebbe is approximately 30 minutes drive away from the Capital city, Kampala.

which means the place of many small birds is one of the most beautiful lakes in Uganda. It is wildly claimed that Lake Bunyonyi is infact Wakanda, from the movie Black Panther. The Lake is found in the South western part of Uganda between Kabale and Kisoro and borders Rwanda. It is the perfect place to wind down after gorilla trekking from the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas

City advice

Getting around

Motorcycles (boda boda ) are the fastest

Recommend using Safe boda & Uber boda , please wear a helmet at all times! Uber rides are very affordable too!
Customs and culture

Best to avoid public displays of affection i.e kissing

It's ok to hug & hold hands though!
What to pack

Lightweight clothing

Carry a sweater/fleece/light jacket for cooler weather particularly in higher altitudes. For footwear, sandals are appropriate, also recommended are comfortable walking shoes or boots for trails. There is a warmer period from December to March, more noticeable in the north, and a cooler period from June to September. It's mostly pleasantly warm all year round in Uganda.
