We love Haney's Apple Orchard—just a few miles from the space! Delicious apple pies and pick your own apples in season. (Also, Labor Day to Thanksgiving check out their amazing apple cider!) They do close sometimes during the winter, so be sure to call ahead before visiting.

The Nancy IGA may not look like much, but it has a hidden secret: the best biscuits around for many miles. They sell hundreds each morning, and for good reason. Head there during breakfast hours and grab a hot biscuit from their deli. We highly recommend the pork tenderloin biscuit—you won't regret it!

If you are adventurous, do not miss this tiny hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in the back of a local Mexican grocery. Hands down, the best, most-authentic tacos you can get. Bonus: a few doors down is a legit Asian market if you are looking for some obscure ingredients for cooking.

Pulaski County Park has many miles of lovely biking and hiking trails that are very safe and well-maintained. The park also has lake access for boats, in addition to campsites and playgrounds.

Black Walnut Nature Trail. Only open Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30. This beautiful trail is only 1/4 mile long through a beautiful old growth forest. The easy boardwalk trail is also handicap accessible most of the way. It ends at a cute picnic spot overlooking the lake so pack a lunch. If you are a nature nerd like us, you will love seeing the beautiful trees that you won’t see elsewhere in Kentucky. A hidden gem.

Our local college has a great, short nature trail (towards the back of the parking lot behind the tennis court) that is a nice easy loop. Tennis courts too if that is your thing!

A great nature spot. If you’re not in the mood to hike, the scenic overlook offers a great view of the arch. Otherwise, the loop trail takes you under the arch for a different and beautiful perspective. Just beware the stairs back out, they can be a little tiring!
