City advice

Getting around

Traffic jams

Traffic jams are part of our everyday life. The Center of Kotor has only one street and therefore jams are usual. To avoid spending hours in line and moving slower than pedestrians consider traveling before 09:00 AM and after 4:00 PM.
Don't miss

Saturday open market

Great experience and possibility to buy real local and domestic products. Every Saturday morning, in front of the Old town. The earlier, the better.
Ways to save

Visiting old town

Consider walking to the Old town (city center) and back. It's a really really nice walk. You will save on parking fees and fuel, especially on time spent looking for parking and waiting in traffic jams.
Don't miss

Maritime Museum

Not so famous but an amazing place to visit. In the middle of the old town.
Useful phrases

Want to be polite and speak the local language?

Here are some phrases Zdravo/Hello Hvala/Thank you Hvala puno/Thank you very much Gdje je.../Where is... Pozovite mi taksi/Call me a taxi Molim vas/please
What to pack

Bring beach/water shoes

Water entrances and pontons in Doborta are mostly rocky or made of concrete so if you have sensitive feet be sure to bring some flip-flops or water shoes.
