Activity
There is plenty of history both ancient and WWII here. Mont Castre, which you can see from the garden, has Neolithic and Roman history but it was also a strategic vantage point during the Liberation of France. We have friends close by whose homes were used by both the Germans and the Allies! You are walking in the footsteps of soldiers here.

We haven't done this trip ourselves but other friends have and say it's very good. Depending on the tour guide English may be spoken or it may be wholly in French; people who do not understand French miss out the information but the sightseeing is worth it alone we are told.
We are not sure if the company has recently merged/been taken over by another company but we'll include their link too.

Sightseeing
The Cotentin peninsula is beautiful, both interior and exterior. The golden beaches of the west Atlantic coast, the WWII commemorative beaches on the east coast, and the north west coast cliffs and crashing sea are all incredible in their individual ways. The interior of the peninsula is full of woods and forests, of lakes and rivers, it's quite simply beautiful.

The marais (marsh) is ever present. In the summer it is lush green pasture for livestock and abundant in wild flowers and pollinating insects. In the winter it becomes an Inland sea; it is quite incredible to see the difference in the seasons and one we never get bored of seeing and of being in awe of Mother Nature. Truly incredible.

In the winter it becomes an Inland sea; it is quite incredible to see the difference in the seasons and one we never get bored of seeing and of being in awe of Mother Nature. Truly incredible.
