Local bar to get beer and mixed drinks. try the Gasolina (mixed alcoholic drink local to PR). It can often get loud with big crowd and music, but a great time.

When the Spanish took over in the 1800s, they would have a city center called "Plaza de Armas". This is usually where the churches and gatherings would take place back then. most small towns and big cities in Latin America will have one or many of these plazas.

we go out of our way to go to Davids sandwich shop every time we are on the island. Usually, we leave Aguada, hit Cafe Lareno, La Piramide De Piedra or Davids sandwich shop....or all three. We make a day of it. Order the papi sandwich at davids. its a huge tripleta (three meat) sandwich. soooo good.

City advice

Getting around

Rental Car

UBER or Lyft has not caught on in PR west side yet. Its spotty, so its best to utilize your rental car. There is a list of local taxis or private drivers in your rental binder.
Don't miss

Road side food trucks and trailers

You can't drive more than a couple blocks without finding a road side food vendor. These are great places to eat for cheap. you can usually get a Pincho (meat stick) and a fresh juice for $3-$4.
Don't miss

Live music by CaraMala

check Facebook for gigs and times. This is a great local band playing Spanish rock and covers. Also you can catch Eli singing acoustic as well. dont leave the island without seeing these guys.
