Sightseeing

Our favourite beach for a long (usually windswept!) walk. Amazing views, lots of space and a chance to clear your head. The drive on the way is also spectacular.

Narrow, windy roads to get there but the scenery on the way is worth it. Bring a picnic and have a wander along the river and in the woods nearby.

A wonderful place to visit in Killarney, feed the ducks, climb the castle walls, maybe go for a boat trip on the lakes.

A fantastic amenity in Killarney, the house itself is worth a visit but the real gem are the gardens and many, many walks that you can do. The kids and I love the number treasure hunt that starts at the boat house.

You can visit the Blasket Islands during the summer months... it is a unique experience in an incredible part of the country. You will also see where some of Star Wars was filmed.

If available a boat trip to the Skelligs is a once in a lifetime experience. Bookings do need to made in advance. If you plan to disembark on the Skellig, you should be aware that it is quite a strenuous ascent to the top.

My favourite place to pretend that I am a celebrity. Get dressed up and go hang out there (I can usually only afford a coffee!!). I sit in the foyer, making my coffee last an hour and soak in the view and people watch. If the budget stretches to a trip to the spa or a meal then lucky, lucky you and go for it!! You won't be disappointed. Give yourself lots of time to fully enjoy the luxurious surrounds.
