City/town information

Ι was born and raised in Athens, even thought that i travelled studied and lived in other countries there are some <things > that i find very characteristic in this city. my intension is to make this <things> available to you. the city is pretty safe still there are some situations that you do not want to be around. do not leave your phone or wallet unattended. the area from synagma square to monastiraki square is very safe any time of day or night. I consider Greeks a little rude in the beginning but with good intensions and willing to help. Ask, interact and you will know more of us. For shopping you can find more of the mainstream stores in Ermou street and around. I strongly recommend a visit in the morning hours the markets in Athinas street https://goo.gl/maps/x5lg7qqy5ympcj1p9 some of the best produce is sold there . try the coffe from Mokka a historic coffee maker in Greece https://g.page/mokka-specialtycoffee?share ask for the special variety they have. visit the Bachar for spices https://goo.gl/maps/wnzqwx8efa4zudj1a . On Sundays morning visit the flea market in Monastiraki https://goo.gl/maps/nh9bz1vbekqd4dk9a As far as monuments you have the acropolis which is the big star. the museum of acropolis , national Museum and Benaki museum https://goo.gl/maps/8jerbrtzwnrbb9r97 are strongly recommended. do not miss! Food Athens center has a great variety for food for all pockets. all the places i name are in walking distance. Traditional pies from all the parts of Greece go to fillo which is in the other side of the street in karagiorgi servias 12-14. Get them in the morning as they finish soon. Vegans try avocado https://goo.gl/maps/sckd9pjqpyz7reju7 and do try the falafellas https://goo.gl/maps/vxwqojf63e4eyeqe8 for a quick (and very tasty) snack. Cherchez la femme is also a nice place for anything from breakfast to dinner. Klimataria in Theatrou square https://goo.gl/maps/4dmkkfpidl92m7do8 for Greek traditional food. try foursquare app most of their best choices are valid. look around smell and decide yourself traffic is always a good indicator … Theater Check with the festival of Athens http://greekfestival.gr/ most of the shows are excellent. try to watch a tragedy and realize how similar the dilemmas that our ancestors had Nightlife The best cocktails in town are served in Baba Au Rum https://goo.gl/maps/co6e9qxgg4dyy2g89 and The Clumsies https://goo.gl/maps/2xbj8t1xymwjdroea I also strongly recommend Six Dogs https://g.page/sixdogsathens?share and in Juan Rodriguez https://g.page/juanrodriguezbar?share you can eat too and get a nice table !
