Look no further if you're looking for some great pizza! This pizza has ample toppings and yummy crust (the gluten-free crust is so good). Easy and always satisfying.

Favorite local hang-out...and best burgers in town. Check out karaoke night on Fridays, and Sundays is the best spot to watch the Seahawks win (hopefully).

The freshest of fresh seafood - Oysters, Salmon, Cod...you name it. You can bring along a bottle of wine and schuck the Oysters yourself. Or visit the new bistro with local wines and beer from the brewery.

This is the place to go for coffee if you want a local feel. Great coffee, lattes and paninis as well. You'll see photo collages all over the walls of locals from around the island (you might even spot me above your barista).

A newer addition to the island, but oh so good. The tofu Bahn mi is out of this world. They always have a special that looks so good too, but I can't move away from the tofu Bahn mi.

Fresh, local ice cream. I mean...the creamiest, yummiest you'll probably ever have. They also do milkshakes, sundaes and have lunch food to choose from.

Neighborhoods

Deer Harbor is on the West Side of the island and a must visit. The drive out to Deer Harbor is worth it alone. Visit the marina and the surrounding sandy beach. You'll also find my recommended Whale Watch, Fishing and Kayaking companies leave from here.

The heart of Orcas Island. Eastsound is where you'll find most of everything. Grocery stores, boutiques, pharmacy, coffee shops, clothing and gift shops and food and restaurants. Grab an ice cream from Clever Cow Creamery and walk over to sit under an apple tree on the green. You won't be sorry.

Olga is just past Moran State Park and well worth a visit. You'll find a couple cafes, a small store and lovely beaches (it is also where Buck Bay Shellfish Farm is located).

Out On The Water

Look no further if you want to go fishing! Captain Marty has over 25 years experience fishing in the Salish Sea. If there is fish, he will find them. Add on crabbing or prawning when allowed (extra fun). You can also private charter for fishing or just cruising.

This is me recommended Whale Watching company (and I get asked that a lot). They have been taking people out to find whales for, I think, over 25 years. Great people and nice boats.

Rent boats, paddle boards and canoes out on Cascade Lake. And I just love Fiona, the owner. She was in my class which was a total of 31 kids from elementary to high school.

Out on The Trails

The South Trailhead to Turtleback Mountain is my favorite. There are a couple different trails you can choose, but I prefer to stay on the main trail. You'll have sweeping views of all the islands once you hit a higher elevation. Well worth the sweat!

There are so many trails you can take in Moran State Park. My favorite is the Mountain Lake trail down to Cascade Falls (just remember you'll have to walk back up). This is because you start walking around Mountain Lake and then go through some beautiful old growth forest. You will also come upon two other waterfalls before you get to Cascade Falls. The hike around Mountain Lake is also nice (and pretty easy).
