Farmers' market and historic town. The nearby historic town of Uraidla features a historic pub, cafe, brewery as well as a step back in time to South Australia's rural past. The market takes place in the Old Uraidla Institute on Greenhill Road, on the first and third Sunday of each month, 10:00–15:00. It is a small market, but it offers a good range fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, oils, eggs, wines, jams, plants, skin care products, knitwear and crafts. There are also homemade cakes and biscuits with tea and coffee, and a barbeque. Considering that it is only a short and picturesque drive from Adelaide, it is well worth the trip.

For road cyclists and fans of the Santos Tour Down Under
For road cyclists! Experience the Santos Tour Down Under Norton Summit Climb. Undoubtedly Adelaide's favourite climb for cyclists, Norton Summit packs 6.33kms of continuous climbing with little opportunity for rest until the very top of the climb. Not as gruelling as the nearby Woodland Way, it makes up for it its insidious mix of false flats, gradient spikes and distance. We measure from the junction of Magill Road where you begin the climb immediately. The first kilometre is spent climbing to the panoramic left-hand view of the city above the housing development near Rostrevor College. The second kilometre is a false-flat as you drag yourself to the first switchback. The third kilometre is a sequence of switchbacks which will give you a chance to get out of the saddle and push hard. The next two kilometres will get you out of the seat as you experience maximum grades of around 30% before you practically charge to the crest at Teringie Drive. For a decadent splurge, dine at Hardy's Verandah Restaurant. Mount Lofty House was built in 1852 for Arthur Hardy. It was his summer residence, but it also became a venue for the most lavish parties, where Arthur would take great delight in hosting Adelaide’s high society. Today, the space has been transformed into Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant – true to the refinement, elegance and opulence the guests of Arthur Hardy enjoyed 165 years ago. With people flocking to the area in search of the best restaurants in Adelaide Hills, our restaurant, which overlooks the patchwork Piccadilly Valley, offers diners magnificent views accompanied by either short and long story tasting menus. Sommeliers provide their wine matching services to provide the perfect complement to your dining experience, allowing you to experience both the flavours we create and the tastes of the wineries which surround restaurants in the Adelaide Hills. Delve into the timeless dining experience which saw HVR awarded ‘Best Restaurant’ in the recent AHA Awards, 3 Chef Hats and #2 in South Australia by the Australian Good Food Guide. HVR is open seven days from 6pm for the 'short story' alacarte menu or 'long story' degustation menu. The restaurant is open from 12pm Saturday and Sunday lunch.
