This is the main street of Newtown, the university suburb. It is full of bars/hotels and hundreds of food options for a range of budgets. It's quite an alternate, anything-goes area. Northern King St is a 25min walk from our place, or you can catch the train to Newtown Station (one stop from Redfern), which is more south King St

Everyone does Bondi beach when they visit Sydney, but if you're feeling adventurous, there is a 6km coastal walk to Coogee beach. There are nice beaches along the way and beautiful views. You can reward yourself in Coogee with food and drinks at the Coogee Pavilion and catch a bus back to the city.

Loads of restaurants and nightclubs around the water. Set back from this is a fantastic water park for families with children. During summer, there are fireworks at Darling Harbour at 9pm every Friday and Saturday night.
