A fortified medieval city with only around 400inhabitants. Also known as the silent city as it's forbidden to hoot horns there. Car are restricted to inhabitants only. Some good restaurants there are - Medina Restaurant, Bacchus and Fontanella (famious for sweets and an excellent view)

Mostly popular because of it's beach "Ghadira Bay" or "Mellieha Bay" but the town "Mellieha" has a lovely basilica (worth visiting)

Sliema is full of retial shops. "Tigne Point" is Malta's largest Mall. Coffee shops, bars and restaurants along the coast and within walking distance. Ice-Cream parlour, laundrette, massage parlour and grocer all within a few steps away from us. Our blue clean sea is a few steps away, just across the street.

Day Trip to Gozo

there are various ways to go! the cheapest & most indpendant way is..... Bus 222 takes you to the north port of "Cirkewwa" (1hrs drive) Ferry ride to Gozo (25mins) and costs around €4.65 each Alternatively you can take a ferry ride from Sliema (10mins walk from our place) ideal if you want to see the coastline of Malta but than spend less time in gozo itself. There are various competitive ferry services.....from a traditional Luzzu to a sailing catamaran.

Comino (Blue Lagoon)

On sunny hot days a trip to comino is ideal. take bus 222 up to the north port of "Cirkewwa" and catch the small ferry boats direct to Comino. Trip around 15mins. The lagoon tends to be over crowded between 10am and 4pm so ideally go visit other spots on the island during that time. Santa Marija Bay - a sandy beach Fort - with medival cannons Imposing Tower - open for tourists Caves - you can swim in treks around the coastline is recommended even in the winter & spring months.

The coastline of Malta has endless discoveries to be made, especially for cave lovers. You can rent a canoe/kayak for a day and discover. Some are pre-planned guided trips and are recommended for first timers or groups with kids.
