This area was acquired thru the act of imminent domain for the purpose of stopping the flooding out of the existing town in the area. This project failed and the land was later given back to WI for the use of a preserve. The nature center is great and the Preserve offers lots of hiking, equestrian trails and cross country/snowshoeing trails.

This is just a spectacularly beautiful spot that is little known. The hiking trail crosses a small swinging bridge and a wooden one and offers small shallow places to frolic on a warm day in the water of Perry Creek.
