Loui's is fantastic. It's more of a finer dining establishment, but the food is terrific, and it's not too stuffy in there. You can feel comfortable in jeans or shorts, while tackling a little higher end menu.

Boulder View Tavern has great views of Big Boulder Lake and has a ton of outdoor seating. Great atmosphere and really good food. Worth a lunch or a dinner during a longer stay.

Great Chinese take out! Definitely try the pork dumplings and dip them in their unique soy sauce. Its a 12 minute drive, but worth it.

Shenanigans is a casual sports / fun pub where the action gets crazier with bachelor and bachelorette parties as the night gets older. Pretty good food, and just a little something different than some of the other restaurants in town.

Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch

Breakfast Brunch or Lunch - this place is fantastic. everything I've ever had here is fantastic and the service second to none. Good luck finding a better Eggs Benedict anywhere else. It also has a charming knick knack shop with some local favorites to peruse while you wait for a table. They also have an outdoor section that they keep cozy warm for dining in.

Things to do

Jack Frost is a great mountain golf course and at only a few dollars more than Split Rock is well worth the price. If you're an avid golfer you'll find Jack Frost to be fun and scenic whereby Split Rock has some decent scenery, it's pretty gimmicky. (You should have to hit irons off the tee on a par 5 for example). You won't find that at Jack Frost.

Our kids love spending time on the Lake Side of the Lodge on the beach. There's a lagoon for swimming, diving, and fishing that also feature a volley ball net in the water. Just a few yards away is the Yeti Water Sports rental shack where you can tube, ski, or rent paddle boards or kayaks. The "beach" also features an out door bar called the Sand Bar where you can sit and enjoy a beverage while you watch the kids play or fish just yards away.

Lake Harmony Water Sports has it all and then some. Tubing, Water Skiing, kayaks, paddle boards, and it sits right across a 2 ft. wide Lake water run off from Nick's Lake House making it very convenient to have some water fun, and then walk a few yards to Nicks for a beverage on a nice sunny day.

Jack Frost is about a 12 minute drive from the house out the back end of Split Rock. It's a great mountain to Ski or Board and is very easy to get to. Great for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders and is very family friendly. They also have tubing!

The also sell beer, and don't overlook their gigantic but delicious hoagies/subs and their secret recipe for the Sloppy Joe. It really has a little bit of everything you need during your stay. There are days where we're there 3 times a day for various reasons, and it's about a 2 minute drive from the house.
