Food Scene

Home of Bristol Brewery, grab a beer and a bite to eat at the Ivywild, an old elementary school that has been re-purposed into a community space. Great spot for picking up some bakery items as well as souvenirs (t-shirts, etc.) to take back home.

This German bakery and deli is the real deal. Fresh baked breads, pretzels, strudel, pastries and more. There's a great deli with meat, wurst and cheese, as well as a mini market. If you happen to be in town during the holidays, their stollen is a top seller. Tip: Go early if you want stollen and strudel. They sell out quickly.

Parks & Nature

Natural beauty abounds on a hike through Red Rock Canyon. Be sure to climb to the top to see the old quarry. There are also great views of Garden of the Gods from this spot, and this location is not filled with as many tourists.

Shopping

If I told you this space offered a bookstore, toy store, wine bar, coffee shop and pizza restaurant that was all connected, would you believe me? It's one of my favorite spots in the Springs because it offers up all of our favorite things in one convenient location. Traveling with kids? Be sure to head to the very back of the pizza restaurant for an indoor playscape, books and coloring sheets for kids. The bookstore sells new and used books as well as local items that you can take home as souvenirs.

Essentials

In Colorado, you are not able to purchase wine or beer with alcohol above a certain level, so heading to a local liquor store will need to be in your plans if you enjoy wine, beer and spirits. Coaltrain is just down the road from the house. They have an amazing section of local (Colorado) beer and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Sightseeing

With or without kids, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a fabulous zoo to visit. Set in the mountain, it's also a fantastic workout! Be sure to feed the giraffes.

There's Seven Falls, owned and run by The Broadmoor, and then there's Seven Falls. You can visit both, but we'd recommend Helen Hunt Falls for two reasons: 1. It's FREE! 2. It's beautiful and the hiking is great. Did we mention it's FREE?
