Sightseeing: Whittier or Seward

Driving to Whittier is a great way to see Alaska as well as heading further down the road to Seward. The town of Whittier is very small (it was a submarine base during WWII) and you get to drive through the train tunnel. It's on a schedule, so make sure to check that out and allow time for road construction. It happens in the summers here. Seward is about a 2 hr drive and a cute little town to walk around and visit the shops. They have wonderful cruises out of Seward as well as guided fishing trips. Lots to explore!
