State Park, Nature Center, Hiking/running Trails

This is another favorite of ours! At no cost you can take a scenic (really, it’s beautiful) drive through this state park. You can also visit the nature center or go on one of the many hiking trails. Fossil trail is a favorite of our kids because you can see lots of real fossils! We do lots of runs on the trails too. There is also a great golf course, tennis court, basketball court, and playground. It’s also less than five minutes from the cabins!

Local Pizza Spot

This is a staple around this area. If you like a lot of bread, get the regular. If you prefer less, go with the thin crust. Call ahead and drive just a few minutes down the road from the cabins to pick it up!

Swimming Beach

We go here often with the kids. It is owned and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. For a few dollars per car you can swim and play here for the day. Bring a cooler and some snacks for a great way to spend part of the day letting the kids swim and play in the sand. It’s less than five minutes from the cabins!

Park and Splash Pad

We love taking the kids here. The splash pad was recently updated and there’s a lot of playground equipment. If you’re feeling especially adventurous there is a local swimming spot in a spring fed river on the north side of the park!

Pool

This is the Wagoner City Pool.
We go here often with the kids. It is a public pool that is well maintained and well staffed with plenty of lifeguards. It’s is $3 per person for the day. With a very large shaded area, a kiddie pool, two large slides, and a diving board, our large family can all find something to keep them busy on a hot afternoon. It opens around 12 so get there when they open to snag a table in the shade!

Grocery And General Store

This is where we get a lot of our dry goods and other household or lake related items. For fresh produce and groceries we go into Wagoner or Tahlequah.
