Holt, North Norfolk

Within walking distance of Meadowside you will find shopping, countryside and restaurants. A great area for dogs and children to explore is Sprout Hills. Turn right out of the house then right again along Valley Lane. This becomes the path of a disused railway. A short distance along the cutting, steps up to the right lead to Sprout Hills. If you follow the railway line it will take you towards Letheringset where a welcome drink and meal at the Kings Head awaits. To the south of the town is Holt Country Park, a large wooded area with picnic benches, a play area, toilets and a tea room. Sheringham Country Park to the east is managed by the National Trust and hosts the local 5km Parkrun every Saturday at 9 am. Norfolk is exceptionally dog friendly so take along your four legged friends and expect to meet others doing likewise. There are numerous beaches nearby, one of the features that makes this area so special is the varied coastline. Holkham is famous for endless sand. Nearby Weybourne has sand cliffs dropping down to a pebble beach. Wells and Cromer are bustling seaside towns, great for fish and chips. Blakeney has the best crab fishing and bird watching along the estuary. Should the weather tempt you to swim indoors the leisure pool at Sheringham is very good.

Shopping Immediately across the road is Budgens, we'd encourage you to shop locally, there are two butchers, two fishmongers, two green grocers, several antique shops, clothing stores and a variety of restaurants.
