Fun Mexican place with strong margaritas. Sit outside on the deck when the weather's nice (they have heaters when it's chilly out)

A big 7-mile hike that starts close to the cottage (near Old Mill Park) and ends at Stinson Beach. There is a bus (Stagecoach) that brings you back to the Mill Valley Safeway, but it does require coordination to get from the Safeway back to the cottage (2+ miles away)

City advice

Don't miss

Nice Walk from the Cottage

The Lovell loop to Cascade Falls Out of our driveway, turn right. Walk up to 750 Lovell at which point look on the right side of the road for a small sign that says: “44.” This indicates a trail that goes down to Cascade Falls. At the bottom of the trail, continue along the road until you see Eugene Street. At this point you can either walk up the driveway of 482 Throckmorton to steep steps that lead back to our house (turn left at the top to get back to our house) –or–continue down the road to downtown Mill Valley.
