If you enjoy a good deep dish pizza, Giordano's is the place. The food is good there. The atmosphere is nice too. If you can't eat it all, bring it home to keep in my refrigerator. Feel free to use the microwave to heat it up later.

Parks & Nature

The Lincoln Park Zoo is always free and within the city. It is a bit of a bus ride down Irving Park Road (#80) to the end of the line and then transfer to Sheridan Road #157 to the zoo. It is well worth the trip. The children's zoo is especially engaging.

The indoor museum in an old Italianate House is rife with taxidermy and exhibits about the area. The hiking trails are short and easy to navigate. The woods are along the Des Plaines River. There is no charge but a donation is appreciated.
