One of our favourite pubs in the area! Community owned, great food and real ale selection, and a buzzing, cosy atmosphere. We like to walk there (about 1 hour) and taxi back, but it’s an easy drive too. This is a really popular place, so weekend bookings are recommended at least week in advance.

A popular stop off for bikers on the way into the Peak District, Matlock Bath is a pretty neighbourhood along the River Derwent, with more fish and chip shops than you could ever possible need! Also home to the Heights of Abraham hilltop park and cable car.

Long Row, William Street, George Street and our own Joseph Street form on of the most historic areas of Belper. The well-preserved, mostly Grade II listed buildings in this Conservation Area give a good glimpse into the past, to a time when Strutt Mill was one of the most architecturally advanced buildings in the world. Wander around the streets and then head down to Strutt Mill

A beautiful scenic walk following the route an old disbanded railway line. The trail runs for miles into the National Park but a good loop (if you’re ok with hills) is to start at Cromford, walk uphill to BlackRocks (easily found on google maps) and along the ridge of the High Peak trail until it ends at High Leak Junction, then a leisurely walk back to Cromford along the Cromford Canal.
