Great place to explore! Then visit the castle, try gongoozeling at the narrow boats on the canal, followed by a wander round Skipton market! The word "gongoozling" originated in Lancashire, birthplace of Britain's canals, from the local slang of "gawning" and "goozling": staring and watching with the mouth agape.
