Really cool place with fantastic food and cocktails and a mid-century vibe on the corner of Forest Ave and Woodford St that has the best burger in Portland. And only a 5 minute walk from Concord St!

Terlingua, along with a multitude of restaurants dotting Inner Washington Ave, is a local's favorite. Great Tex-Mex style food with some of the best barbeque in town. And the backyard deck is a welcome addition to Portland's outdoor dining scene.

These guys got their start as a food cart in front of Bissell Brothers and have since parlayed it into their own brick and mortar location on Exchange St. They have a steady rotation of great beers and frozen cocktails. Definitely a cool spot!

Great neighborhood Mediterranean spot at the corner of Fox and Anderson. Super flavorful food that started as a food truck and has since gained a loyal local following since opening up their brick and mortar.

Sightseeing

Easy 15-20 minute ferry ride out of downtown. Once you're there, you can rent a golf cart and putt around the island. Be sure to check out Battery Steele while there, which is an old bunker that you're able to walk through. Be sure to bring your phone so that you can use its flashlight to check out the graffiti.

It's touristy, but it's hard not to check out while in town visiting. It's somewhere that I make a point to bring guests. Walking trails, a great food truck (lobster rolls), and amazing views. Cape Elizabeth, where the the Portland Head Light is located, is also a beautiful town.

Beer

Also known as Yeast Bayside due to all of its beers. Between Austin Street, Rising Tide, Lone Pine, and Goodfire, it's hard not to appreciate so many great breweries being in such close proximity.

Battery Steele is one of a handful of breweries that call 1 Industrial Way home. This Portland beer mecca is where both Maine Beer Company and Bissell Brothers started their journey. On any give summer day, you'll find a fleet of food trucks and it'll be hopping!

If you're a beer drinker, these guys don't disappoint. Relatively new'ish to the Portland beer scene, but they consistently crank out solid beers. They have their own building right next to 1 Industrial Way, which means you've a multitude of world class beers to choose from when visiting the area.

Brick buildings and cobblestone streets lend to the Old Port's charm. Does it get touristy? Absolutely. Is it worth checking out? Absolutely.

Portland retains its working waterfront. There's a constant battle between lobstermen and developers, but one can only hope that some element of a working waterfront will remain. It's definitely worth strolling along the waterfront and dropping into The Porthole or Portland Lobster Company for a drink and some live music.
