My local taco truck. Tacos (and taco trucks) in LA are like pizza in NYC: everybody thinks the best one is the one around the corner from their house. So it is here. Tacos for 1.25 each. Sometimes I just get two; but most people will order 3-4. They are small. They specialize in "al pastor". But they also carry chicken and everything else you would expect. Their little salsa bar is really, really good. Try all the salsas, but beware, they are spicy. Two blocks from the house.

This is my main grocery store. i love Trader Joes. you will find that most Angelenos love Trader Joes. This store is not necessarily close to the house. You need to drive there or uber there. But the prices are good, the offerings are good quality and they have a great mix of organic and non-organic and unique snacks and foods that you won't find anywhere else.

One of the newest Museums in LA. It opened in 2015. It is much talked about and mostly focused on modern and contemporary art. It is very popular and requires a reservation. If you know you want to visit, I suggest getting a reservation at the earliest convenience, especially if you are thinking of visiting on a weekend of a holiday.
