Outdoor recreation

Recommendations for hiking, running, and biking trails.
Only 3 miles from the tiny house and is a great place to go for a run. Access to the C&O canal and paved tow path. Pro tip: park your car before you go onto the I-70 ramp. This way you don’t have to drive down the interstate and turn around at the next exit which is 7 miles down the road.

This is my personal favorite hike. Alltrails marks this hike as difficult. It will get you to the top of a ridge with a beautiful view. Wear long pants as the trail is overgrown and pay attention to the trail markings. Message me for a dropped pin of the trailhead/parking lot. — https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/pennsylvania/tuscarora-mountain-south.

Do you want to visit George Washington’s bathtub? I don’t know... maybe you do 🤷‍♂️. The hot springs is more or less a community pool. Just a heads up 🤗.

The Bloodiest Day in American History. 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of savage combat on September 17, 1862. The Battle of Antietam ended the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia's first invasion into the North and led Abraham Lincoln to issue the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation — (nps.gov)
