Excellent coffee and lunch stop. Fabulous pastries, breads and other treats. They have a huge tipee that provides a nice all weather seating area. Pull into the car park for the garden centre and wander through. A real delight. Discover it early in your stay as you will want to return.

Your local pub! Just a two minute walk away. Lovely sunny and pretty garden out the back with lots of seating. Wise to book as it gets busy. Slightly above standard pub fare with a wide menu. Great for lunch or dinner or just a pint. Closes quite early so don't leave it too late.

An absolute gem in the small hamlet of Ruan Lanihorne which is 10 mins drive away along the banks of the Fal River, or an hours cycle ride. Nice area to wander around before or after your meal. We have eaten some fabulous food there including whitebait, great fish and chips. They rustled up an excellent vegan option at short notice. The chips are to die for.

This is a magical place and a must see. We discovered it in it's early days about 15 years ago and it has just got better. tables set around an old mill and pond. Birds and insects are in abundance. Great tea, coffee cakes etc. They also do stone baked pizzas on certain days of the week. Check before you go. Near Veryan - it is signposted on the main road towards St Mawes.

The XX with Chic supporting was excellent! Set aside the whole day and see everything. They have a very scary zipwire if you are into that sort of thing.

Not the first thing that springs to mind to do but this attraction has just won a major prize for its Audio Visual exhibits. Combine it with a walk/cycle along the Camel trail.

beaches and seaside

Carne and its neighbour Pendower Beach are probably the most accessible local beaches. There is a car park and loos and on busy days usually and ice cream van. Beautiful south facing sandy beaches with interesting rocks and pools to discover.

Delightfull and slightly ramshackle beach cafe on the beautiful Pendower Beach 20 mins drive from Tregony. A favourite place of ours, especially on a sunny day. Fantastic views from the south facing terrace. Tea, coffee etc and great wraps, paninis etc. Settle down for well deserved lunch after a swim perhaps?
