Wine Tasting along the Wine Trail
Our Ranch is on the Placer Wine Trail. This particular winery is within walking distance from the ranch. There are many more along the trail. The wine trail is well marked with signage. I have included several wine trail maps in the guidebook for you convenience. And don't miss the "Ale" trail too for you beer lovers. Go wine tasting is a must for this area. Bring a bottle home for your evening with the alpacas.

Here in Placer County you can "Ale" taste along with your wine tasting. The Goat House is very close to Colusa Riverside Alpacas and is my particular favorite. If you want to bring some Ale home let me know I have the Goat House Ale container for take out. Take your lunch or snacks, the setting is very relaxed. They provide picnic areas along with your ale tasting.

Sightseeing
Want to go skiing or just sight seeing this is a must for both. Donner lake is approximately an hour drive from the ranch. Also visit Truckee, a quaint little town just beyond Donner Lake. Want to go to Lake Tahoe, make a right turn in Truckee and you will be to Tahoe in another half hour.

Want to visit our local casino, I think you will really enjoy Thunder Valley both for it's amenities but also the variety of restaurants available. An equal distance south of the Ranch is the Hard Rock Casino another great casino.

Trails to ride your bike, your horse, for running or hiking.
These are the many trails in our area. These trails have all levels of difficulty. The WST has both moderate and severe levels of difficulty. Hidden Falls would be classified as mild levels of difficulty. Sterling point, Beale's Point and the other Folsom Lake trails would be generally considered moderate levels.
Minutes from the loft get your morning run, biking or ride in at Hidden Fall Regional Park, no charge on the weekdays, small fee for the weekends. Payment is done online. You can download the park map to your phone from the website or pick one up at the park.

The WST can be accessed in a multitude of trailheads from Auburn all the way to Truckee. I likely know them all. I am seasoned endurance rider so even the high country I can help you with.

The WST can be accessed in a multitude of trailheads from Auburn all the way to Truckee. I likely know them all. I am seasoned endurance rider so even the high country I can help you with.
Great place for hiking, riding or biking is along the Folsom Lake Trails. The lake is very low this year so water use is not possible right now, but lots of trails available. There is some restrictions for bikes in certain areas, primarily the WST portions of the trail.

Folsom Lake State Recreation Area

This is another California State Park which can be a staging area for trail biking, horseback riding, running or hiking. There is an entry fee of $20. Also, includes Folsom Lake access. You can access the Folsom Lake Trails at this park. However, there are many other access point that don't require fees.

You can ride, hike or run along the American River, or if you want to ride the rapids check out another posting in my guidebook on river rafting. If you want to run or ride out of cool you will need to park behind the firehouse. This is a County Park that requires a $20 fee. Once in the parking lot you can ride for miles in any direction.
