Lake Swimming, the Rock, Picnic

Cheoah Point is one of our favorite spots to take the kids to swim. It is roughly seven miles from the cabin. There are a few picnic tables and grassy areas to sit. The dedicated swimming area is sectioned off. There is a narrow trail off to the right side (as you’re facing the water) which leads to “the rock” where many enjoy jumping off from and into the lake.

For as little as $5, rent a tube and ride the river! Located approximately 40 minutes from the cabin/cottages. The water can be quite cold, so best to tube in the summer sun. Would also recommend wearing river shoes. They do sell them for less than $15 at the tube rental shop. The water is fairly shallow.

Sightseeing

Yellow Creek Falls is a personal favorite of mine! The water can be seen and heard as you hike up the 3/4 mile trail. At the top there’s a breathtaking waterfall and swimming hole. Be sure to bring towels if you’re looking to get in! The hike up can be a bit cumbersome to some as it is uneven and slightly steep. You won’t be disappointed!
