Sausalito has a tourist part of town on Bridgeway as you get further to the south with t-shirt shops and ice cream, and in the middle it is more a local area where you will find casual restaurants...Bar Bocci for pizza and Joinery on the water or Sushi Ran on Caledonia (running parallel to Bridgeway, local street)
