Tomato House Farms is a full experience. Make sure to catch the novelty store, with enough aisles of goodies for at least an hour of entertainment... note their hours are shorter than the grocery portion. The grocery store has all the basics, along with a deli counter and butcher. They can all of their own veggies, fruits, jams, tomato sauce... even make their own hand pies.

Incredible views after a moderately strenuous hike up to the top of Mount Yonah. Leave early to make sure you get a parking spot, it can fill up quick. Also the dirt road to the parking lot can get tricky, sometimes it is not well maintained.

City/town information

Our cabin is a quick 15-30 minutes from 3 local towns to explore.
Cleveland has a cute old town center, with newer chain stores within a 1-2 mile radius. It has a good number of small businesses to support: Smoky Mountain Trader for your outdoorsy needs, Nora Mill General Store for fun novelty items, Farmhouse Coffee, and finally some antique fun at the Rustic Rooster Emporium. This can be polished off with a good meal and/or beer at Clyde’s Table and Tavern. Watch the hours of operation… most of the stores are closed on Sunday.

Much larger old town center than Cleveland, lots of stores and restaurants to choose from and more is open on Sundays. But... it gets very busy/crowded.

Food scene

While we are big proponents of using our well equipped kitchen for cooking, we have several restaurant recommendations. NOTE: we are about 20 minutes from any restaurant...and they have limited capacity. so plan ahead!
Support this small town donut shop, so fun. For the last 1+ year they have a makeshift drive thru window with no menu posted, but promise it is worth it. The owner has a printed out list you can ask for, or just go for it and ask for what you want.

Just ask! We have traveled heavily in the area and are FULL of recommendations. Just let us know what you are looking for. Book before you go

Wineries can require reservation for tastings!

Usually for parties less than 4, you do not need reservations. We do suggest calling ahead. Also ask about winery tours.. some do offer guided ones to learn more about their property. Example, The Cottage Vinyard and Winery requires reservations for 4 or more, and must be made a minimum of 3 days in advance.
Travelling with kids

Close toed shoes and pants for property bush-whacking!

We have lots of space to explore, but proceed at your own risk. Although not prevalent, keep an eye out for poison ivy and other thorny bushes as you walk around the non paved areas. Have fun!
