The landmark is a 44-foot tall steel sculpture standing at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita, sacred land to Native Americans who populated the area.
The Keeper of the Plains Plaza now brings people out each evening to see the Keeper and the lit fire pots that surround it, known as the Ring of Fire. You can see the lighting of the flames at 7pm in Fall and Winter and 9pm in Summer and Spring.

The artist GLeo, a female muralist from Colombia, painted the mural, which can be found near 21st & Broadway streets.
