Coming from a big city I find the small town vibe to be slow and more my speed. The sound of the train is quaint. Plenty of dispensaries if you're legally carded. Don't drink alcohol so not sure about the bar scene.

Just 90-minutes to the north is Oklahoma's namesake city. The new First Americans Museum is open (famok.org) and well received. Do your business in OKC during the day then jam down the I-35 back to Highland Park A-OK for the evening.

All the joys of metropolitan living are just two hours to the south. If you miss traffic congestion, being tailgated by giant pickup trucks, and/or construction delays then bop on the I-35 and get on down to Dallas. I'm sure there's cultural stuff there too.

If you find Ardmore too crowded then mosey west under the I-35 a couple of miles to Lone Grove where the restaurants have short waits and traffic is unheard of. It's named after a, um, lone grove of trees which should set you up accurately for what the general vibe is. Bonus: there must be a half dozen dispensaries for the town's 5,000 residents second only to churches and gas stations.

TBH there's absolutely zero reasons to visit Springer I just wanted an excuse to tell you that I almost bought the old Methodist church to live in before the Highland Park A-OK house which looks like my little church dream home kinda sorta if you squint and tilt your head.
