One of the oldest attractions in Matanzas. These caves where discovered by a local farmer in the 19 century. The halls and galleries are filled with stalactites and stalagmites, krastic crystals, underground stream, fountains, crystallized domes and some other unique limestone formations. Just be prepared to walk, but it totally worth it =D

This natural wonder is located about 20 km (12 mi) west of Varadero. This big opening in the ground (cenote) is filled with fresh crystal clear water. You can swim of snorkel to see the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites formations, fish, and blind shrimps. Scuba divers can also enjoy 2 galleries that reach a depth of 20 meters.
Cueva Saturno is a very popular stop in many of the excursions offered from Varadero, but if you prefer to go by yourself and want to avoid the tour groups it’s better then to go in the morning or late afternoon. There’s a snack bar on-site.

It's a small mall, but you can find a little bit of everything.
Just half block from the apt, it was called 'Parque de las 8000 Taquillas' long time ago, which is translated something like 'Park of the 8000 closets' and was used to stored personal belongings by the beach tourists. Noways is called 'Centro Comercial Hicacos'. Here you can shop for groceries and essentials. Also rum like 'Havana Club'... very close and convenient.
