Beach

Walking distance to the unit, Ala Moana Beach park is a great family friendly beach to paddle board, go for a dip or simply to lay out! Our family loves that L&L is on site so no need to bring the whole kitchen with you! Check out Magic Island for a beautiful walk and some fishing and sometimes turtle spottings!

Clear blue water, white powder sands and turtle sightings! it doesn’t get more Hawaii than Lanikai! Our favorite beach minis the challenge of finding parking. It is best to drop the whole family off at the entry of the beach access and driver to find parking and walk. You can also park at the public beach and walk over. No restaurants and no bathrooms or showers unless you go to the public beach. Make sure to visit Island Snow for shave ice after!

GO TO LAGOON 2 but maps won’t allow us to liar lagoon 2. Our fave is lagoon 2 because it is typically the least packed. Drop the family off at lagoon 2 and find parking at Lagoon 3 and walk over to Lagoon 2. Note, No tents are allowed on Ko Olina beaches. This is a family favorite. It can take sometimes up to 45 minutes to wait in line for parking but it’s worth it and sometimes you get lucky! Bring your snorkel gear because there’s some great snorkeling in the shallow area by the rocks within the lagoon. Very family friendly as there are no waves as it is protected by surrounding rocks.

Hands down our favorite authentic Japanese Tonkatsu. Make sure to get the Pork Tenderloin set for all of you meat eaters. Thinly sliced and ever so tender. I recommend to make reservations one month in advance to secure seating. They do seat times only. Very close to Leonard’s Bakery, the Zoo and the Cat Cafe for other fun places to visit. This is a top 5 must for our family every time we are in town.
