Awesome local pub style eatery with seating both indoor and out. Live events like open mic, bands and trivia. If you go I would suggest sitting at the bar and perhaps Rita will be working. She is awesome.

In the heart of Gettysburg this is a hot spot and you will need to get there put in your reservation and wait patiently at the bar. We only eat in the Springhouse Tavern (in the basement) and it is worth the wait. Incredible food, awesome atmosphere. The Underground Railroad went through this establishment and there is a place you can see where it all occurred.

Local organic farm run by generations of the Oyler Family. Great place to buy locally sourced food products and during certain times of the year they offer a "breakfast on the farm". This is a tradition for our family and produces great memories with an incredible food experience. Tell them Dominic and Elizabeth (from NJ) sent you!

Now this coffee/bakery/gluten free experience is about a 1/2 hour drive from Tree Top but worth the trip especially if you are into antiques and a small town feel. Great coffee and a wide assortment of fresh baked products, but I go for their homemade quiche. Great vibe and wonderful staff.

If you are into German made items this is your place. Nutcrackers, smokers, steins and other German made items this is a really nice store in the heart of Gettysburg. Their main store is in New Oxford (1/2 hour away) and is spectacular.

Explore the battlefield either solo or with a guide. There is so much to list that it would take pages to give you advice on where to go and what to do. I have put an audio tour on our guest table but this only shows a small part of the battlefield. There are bus tours, guides, audio tours, and horse back guided experiences as well.

* This is a few miles from Tree Top but truth be told we have never visited as they were closed when we purchased the house. In speaking to locals it is a sanctuary that houses about 50 different species and most have been rescued from very troubling experiences/lives. The zoo is open from May-October.

If you are looking for something to do as a group I suggest this place its very good. We go to this one and 1863 as they are good escape rooms and something to do especially if its raining.
